Don't forget about The Rainbow Book Fair this weekend in NYC. Come on out and support the writers of LGBTQ literature. It's only for six hours on Saturday and you'll get to meet a TON of writers from different publications including Bold Strokes Books. I'm reading between 1:30 and 1:50 and then "manning" the booth from 2:00 - 3:00 with CF Frizzell. The two of us together is bound to cause some trouble, trust me! If you haven't read her historical romance novel Stick McLaughlin, buy it at the Fair and she can sign it. Her writing is smooth like a really expensive saki (I don't drink whiskey and the only thing smooth I ever drank was a really expensive saki from Japan that old customers of mine gifted me with) and her book will play out like a movie in your mind. Come see us all this weekend!
Good news... Got a free meal tonight. Bad news... Had to mow and weed eat to get it. It actually wasn't too bad. It wasn't too hot or too cold outside. The grass was high but I conquered it like a champ. I was covered in grass by the time I was done, but that burrito was soooo worth it! Yum!! Today is the kind of day you just want to stay in bed. It's raining outside, Mols is snuggled up to me and my desire to work is waning. We have storms coming in...bad ones...and I need to get shit done before they hit. Deb blames me for the storms...said I never should have written "that book" and then I reminded her that she's the one who told me to write it. So now you know what book #2 is about... While working from home has TONS of benefits, one of the drawbacks is that it's hard to stop working every day. If I am sitting on the couch after working all day, I feel guilty for lounging. I think I should squeeze an extra hour in. Yesterday I worked 3 hours before Easter dinner and 3 hours after. On Easter! I gotta figure this out. I will say that this past winter I got sick ZERO times. That never happens. I usually have two whopper colds during winter. I think I had a cold in fall but it wasn't a bad one. It's because I work from home. I am not going to an office building with several different people who are sick and spreading it around. If you are like me and catch a cold, you swear you are dying. Hands down I am the biggest baby when I'm sick. So far, so good. So on my way out this morning to Easter weekend sales, a storm hits. The temperature dropped dramatically with the cold front and the hail that fell was soft. Weirdest thing. I had little hail balls on my coat that I could squish. There's your quote of the day! |
