Misunderstanding
She hurls her emotions at me
silently
with rage
as I walk through the door.
Anger punches the wall
on either side of me,
slides down,
puddles at my feet.
Surprise leaves my body
and finds its way between us
in the hall.
Chills on my side,
my body turns cold
as hers grows hot.
Shaking her head
she shuts herself off from me,
turns
and leaves fury in her wake.
She hurls her emotions at me

as I walk through the door.

turns

Spring Storm
Blue slashes through the grey
cutting its thick belly with brightness.
Angry, battled clouds
limp behind the struggling storm
sputtering more rain
on the dampness below.
The sun marches them along
pushing them like prisoners
headed for camp
somewhere else.
Earth sighs relief
and puddled water
creeps back into the ground.
Life peeks out from behind shelter,
takes a deep breath,
and timidly begins anew.

A Thought of You
A thought of you
entered into my mind,
undisturbingly quiet.
I almost didn't recognize it,
hidden within my concentration
and curled around useless dust
I have yet to sweep away.
As soon as I found it,
it leapt up in play,
twirled about like a feather
in a summer breeze,
and slowly danced for me.

The Goodbye Kiss
A kiss on parted lips --
sweet to the touch,
soft to taste.
Passion pulsating under red lips
full of life,
thick with love.
I still feel her,
days later,
a tingling shadow
across my bare mouth.
The savored memory,
intimate and heavy,
swirls in my mouth
and comes to rest
gently against my tongue.
