BSB has contracted me for another book and I'm super excited! I am having so much fun writing this one. Right now I am in the middle of a sex scene and very pleased with the progression. This will be more of a sensual book - like Jolt. Whirlwind Romance is an adventure book with good sex. Not as sensuous but hot. I am really loving being a writer of contemporary lesbian romance! What a great job to have! So glad I took the plunge and made my dream come true.
Last night I heard awful screeching noises so I stepped outside and saw an owl and hawk fighting. 11 pm! So now I speak Owl. And I'm good at it, too. The owl was bouncing back and forth between a couple of trees enthralled with whatever the hell I was saying. Eventually the hawk flew off so it was just me and Hedwig. Visions of sharp talons digging into my scalp or back had me quickly inside. I wonder if she's out there waiting to chat. One of my friends got us third row tickets to Missy's show. It was such an entertaining concert. She was engaging, relaxed, fun. She played all of her big hits from all of the years and really killed it on guitar. Fantastic musician. I always forget how much I love her music until she gets out on stage. I think it would be fun to write a song with her. Apparently we have a lot in common... When I hear fireworks late at night, I never know if it's from the Royals' stadium or some drunk guy out back getting crazy with his newly purchased bundle of explosive joy. Then again, people have been known to shoot guns up in the air around here so it's really a toss up. Yeah to great weather! I've only ever had garage sales on Saturdays because I have the attention span of a gnat. Keeping me rooted for 2 whole days is a miracle. We are selling stuff to help pay for Molly's medical bills so I am surprisingly calm and grounded. Having a sale on a Friday isn't bad. Steady flow and only one criminal. Who steals at a garage sale?!?! The lady who didn't want to pay $5 for a purse and switched tags. How do you handle that? Geez. Well, it's been a profitable day and I know tomorrow will be even better! It's over a month away, but I ordered two fun shirts to wear. Hopefully they fit! The temps are going to be close to hell-like, but the convention is an ice cap from what I hear. I will catch a cold I'm sure. In and out. In to cool down, out to warm up. There will be a Con Virgin meet and greet Wed night but one of my friends is reading at almost the same time. I have to come up with a schedule because I am sure I will want to do a lot with a lot of different people. I don't want to miss a thing. This has to be a problem for a lot of people. I hope to meet new people - readers and other writers. Stop me if you recognize me and say HI! I almost always forget to shave my left leg. I don't know why. That's happened 2x in the last three days. I recently read something somewhere (probably on Facebook) about how women only recently started shaving and something about how we should get back to it. I love smooth legs. I really do. You can really see the definition of a woman's legs when they are freshly shaved. I don't want to see hairy legs. Really. Men have hairy legs. Let them keep them. I will try better to remember shaving both legs especially now that it's shorts season. Keep in mind that I look like Casper on a good day. I glow. Yes, I am that pale. I haven't been to a Pride event in several years. I went to our own yesterday but didn't stay long. I think we got there too early. My friend was tired so we sat around for a bit enjoying the sun. I am so happy the rain stopped and the park dried out for the festivities. I did get information on the LIKEME Lighthouse events coming up. I want to get more involved and I think this is a good start. When I was growing up, we didn't really have a lot to do here in town. There were a few bars and I think the colleges had a few groups but really that was it. I am glad there are more opportunities now for the LGBTQ community now here in Kansas City. It was good to see so many people there supporting our Pride. Well I didn't win the Lammy for Contemporary Romance, but I did get a lot accomplished yesterday. It sounded like the awards were a blast with great celebrities and musicians. I can't wait to see the final list and see how my brothers and sisters at BSB did overall! And I was surprised to know that this year was Lee Lynch's first Lammy nod. Unbelievable! One of the true pioneers of LGBT's written word! Plenty years left and so much more to write about. I am looking forward to many more possibilities for us all as we breakthrough and actually become the mainstream. |
