Christmas was fun, as always. I love my family and my friends. I don't like looking at my tree the day after Christmas. I feel bad that I have to shove it back in a box for 350 days. If I leave it up, my fam might check me into some sort of facility. I actually knew somebody who did keep her tree up 24/7/365. We just thought she was lazy, Turns out, she really is crazy. So I'll give the tree a few more days, then pack it up and put it back downstairs. Sigh.
We are all in better moods today because of office secret santas. For 1 week out of the year, we love one another. The 51 other weeks, we simply tolerate working together. Today was the big reveal. Only 12 more days until Christmas! I have 2 presents purchased. At least my tree is up and decorated. I'm so thankful for Amazon Prime... that means I can procrastinate even more on my Christmas shopping. Here's what I don't like. I don't like Christmas lists. I don't want people to tell me what I want to get them. If I don't know you well enough to get you a present without pulling something off of your list, then we probably shouldn't exchange gifts.
December is a stressful month, I get it. It's a fun month, too, because it's the month of Christmas, my sister's birthday, review time at work (the only time I bitch the entire year to my boss) the official start of winter, New Year's Eve, and there's always a countdown. X days until Christmas, X hours until the stores close, X hours until the new year. December is also social month.
I probably get out more in December than any other time of year. I'm not a social person, but my calendar is already getting full. I take a lot of photos - Christmas parties, Christmas cards, family get togethers, etc. I went from the pan into the fire.
