I have a few extra books in my possession and am willing to sell autographed copies to you or your loved ones. This makes for a GREAT Christmas gift. Want to ask that special girl to get married? Let me do it! I can write it in my book! How romantic would that be! Or any question, really. Or just say something sweet about you or your better half. I might even throw in a pic! Email me if you are interested. PayPal is great!

JOLT is slipping! I need everybody who loved my book to post it to their facebook page, blog it, make a bumper sticker for your car, help me promote it! If you have friends who are hesitant, prod them. Gently. Or not - who am I to say what helps?!?! I could use a few more sales. I'd like to finish out October with a bang. Hmmm... well, you know what I mean. Christmas IS just around the corner... H-E-L-P!
The first few days I was flying solo - I didn't know anybody and I arrived way too early. Heather and her wife invited me to have a beer on Monday afternoon and then the love began! I got to meet other BSB authors and authors I get tongue-tied around (Georgia Beers, Lynn Ames are a few prime examples). It was great! I had my first reading on Wednesday and I was nervous and it showed. Thursday was sex day and I had to follow the fabulous Dena Hankins who was extremely theatrical delivering her reading. I just looked at her and said really? because reading after her is like reading after Melissa Brayden or Radclyffe. I didn't stand a chance! I did okay though. By Saturday's reading I was a pro! Well, in my head I was. The cool thing about the readings and the book signings after was that I got to talk to women who were either excited to start Jolt or who had already read it. That's amazing! My baby! I might have to break into a Sally Field moment - they like me! they really like me! Best. Feeling. Ever! Made some great friends on this trip and I'm looking forward to seeing them all again. Fantastic, supportive women and I hugged them every chance I got.
It's sex day here in PTown! Nestled quietly between Hump Day and The Weekend, and I am ready for it! Today I am reading a sex scene from Jolt. I have several sex scenes so picking one out was rather difficult - only because of time restraints. The scene is a little rough, but not too bad. Come support me but please don't bleep me or cough every time I say pussy like a few of my new friends have threatened to do... I have met some wonderful women here in PTown and they have welcomed me into their lives with open arms (that Journey reference is for you, Heather!). It has been a great trip so far and I am excited for each new day out here. Today was a great and productive day. I had a good breakfast with new friends. I hung out at the beach - wrote a bit - made out with Olivia, a very sweet dog who listened to me more than her own mama, met another dog Jenko who ran circles around me, saw a lighthouse, went to a wharf and took a nap. I ate a decent dinner, ran into my breakfast mates, picked up chocolate and now I'm back at the hotel. I also just found out that the other authors have been practicing their readings aloud. I haven't so now I'm whispering the book I'm reading from on Wednesday - Heather Blackmore's Like Jazz. Very good book and I"m excited to read from it. I just have to be quiet because this is a bed & breakfast and the walls are relatively thin. I"ll worry about my own book tomorrow. I don't know if there is a time limit there or not, but I better have a plan B just in case!
Today I am at the Sage Inn watching Patriots vs Bills. It is hard to cheer on Tom Brady but I do it for all the sisters here with me! Here's a breakdown of the last 24 hours. The Royals played until about midnight. I took a catnap until 4:00 a.m. and got up to get ready for my 7:20 a.m. flight to Boston with a quick stop in St. Louis. I sat next to a very nice older couple and Vera was kind enough to let me clutch her when the turbulence got so bad we all thought the worst. Even the pilot was nervous as he yelled for the flight attendants to take their seats. No in-flight service and we were all super quiet. I clapped when we landed. I would have made out with the pilot, but I only had 25 minutes until my 2nd flight.
I can't sleep on airplanes. I'm afraid of doing the jerk. You know what I'm talking about. Just about ready to fall asleep and BAM! You jerk. I giggle at the people who try to play it off. So, I stayed awake. Then I had a 3 hour drive to PTown from soggy Boston. Of course when I got here, I was so excited that I had to walk for 2 hours in the semi-coldish wet weather. Now it's barely 7 and I want to go to sleep. But the Royals are playing again tonight and so I want to watch the game, too. Sigh. I'm not doing to well in Canada...and I don't know why! My sales, I mean. I love Canada. Very pretty place. I've been to Edmonton and Montreal. I didn't get to spend a lot of time in either place, but really want to go back. I love the Canadian accent, too. I'm just a sucker for accents.
I'm also not doing the greatest in Germany, and I lived there! For years and years! I even look German (Thanks, Mom!). Sigh. I can understand Germans not rushing to get my book - the language barrier - but Canada??? The majority of Canadians speak and read English. I need to figure out how to get my name out there and get people to read Jolt. Suggestions? |
