Here's what I love about PTown. I love the new friends I make. Last year I knew ZERO people. I left PTown last year with several great friends - many of whom I visited at their homes during my hiatus. I made just as many new friends this time around. I love being a part of a community of women - readers and writers. Lesbian support is great and encouraging and only makes me want to write more.
My roomies were sick most of the time, so I woke up every day, rolled out of bed, and hit the road. I was busy for every meal and hit all of the readings. I had my first panel - chatty Cathy - where several authors talked about dialogue. It's the one thing I struggle with - maybe that's why Rad asked me to moderate the panel. I learned some stuff, and got over some of my stage fright.
We raised over $200 for the PTown animal shelter during a BBQ on Friday night. Frizzell and Holly brought their guitars and jammed out. We sang, we drank, we flirted. Great time.
I loved it. All of it. I am looking forward to next year where I will meet even MORE great women and read from 3 new books! If you haven't been to PTown, think about it.
