Jolt

Whenever a conversation turns ugly or someone repeats the same thing several times, I recite poetry in my head. I don’t think it’s rude. People need to get their story out, but I usually grasp what they’re saying the first time they tell me. By the third time, Emily Dickinson and I are deep in conversation. At least internally.  

That is my opening paragraph.  I don't know if it will change -- I'm still waiting to hear back from my editors, but I wanted to get something concrete out there so that I can start developing some sort of interaction with people who will be interested in my book when it comes out this fall.  What do you think?
